The main aim of project “Raduraksti” is to create and support on-line resources for family history research and ensure the proper preservation of originals of the microfilmed and digitalized records.

The project is financed by Government as a new political initiative.

• The creation if the on-line resources for family history research. It includes microfilming and digitalization of parish registers of the Lutheran Church, the Latin Church and the Orthodox Church, soul revision lists of Vidzeme and Kurzeme, records of the first census in 1895. Till the end of 2010 on –line will be available approx. 21 thousand files.

• The virtual reading room. There will be available the on-line resources for family history research. The registration in this reading room will be the same that for ordinary reading room, the users shall fill in registration form and accept reading room rules.

• The exploration of the records connected to the for family history research, that are stored in the different archives in abroad (e.g. in 1930-ies made copies of the files that was lost durian 2. World word) and in the other memory institutions in Latvia .

• The preservation of originals of the microfilmed and digitalized records.
